TYPICAL QUESTIONS
- What precautions are taken? During the session, your skin will be protected by using a cooling tip.
- What are the contra-indications? Mostly tanning, but also whatever makes skin more sensitive like some medication and pregnancy.
- What are the risks? In case of failure to respect precautions or contra-indications, risk of superficial burns with temporary problems of pigmentation that disappear in a few weeks.
-Does it hurt? There is a slight tingling which is quite bearable. For sensitive areas an anaesthetizing cream can be applied.
- What is the comparison with electrolysis hair removal? laser hair removal is much quicker and less painful. However, electrolysis hair removal may be used in addition for pale or white hair.
- Does the area need to be preppe No traditional hair removal procedures for 15 days beforehand and shaving or cutting hair short the day before or the day of treatment.
- How long does the session last? 10 minutes for around the mouth or armpits to 45 minutes for lower legs.
- What must I do after the session? If the area is a bit irritated (as with sunburn) apply a Biafine® type cream.
- Will my skin be free of hair after the session? In the week that follows, the treated hair will fall out. The skin will be hair free, then new hairs entering into active phase will gradually begin to appear. It is normal for hair to have grown back considerably before the next session.
- Can the standard treatment schedule be modified? Yes, because depending on the area to be treated and individual hairiness the return growth may be more or less intense or rapid. This is determined during the initial consultation.
- If there has been no new growth, can I postpone the next session? No, because it is preferable to treat young hair (anagen) that has not yet reached its adult stage and is therefore easier to disable.
- Is it a problem if I miss a session? The hair already treated no longer grows back; so you will not lose the benefit of previous sessions, you will just have more return growth when you come back to do your next session.
- Will the hair removal always be truly and completely permanent? Perhaps not always, especially with considerable or hormone-related hairiness, but you will at least have a long and then very long-term result, with very minor and thin new growth.
- Should I count on follow-up sessions? Yes, it may be necessary to have a session from time to time. These will be very short sessions so not costly but guaranteeing the permanence of the result, and if not required so much the better!
